Online Filing Support
Myanmar’s Trademark Law was enacted in 2019 and took effect on 1 April 2023. General applications under the new system opened on 26 April 2023. The framework follows a first-to-file approach, subject to applicable legal requirements, priority rights and other protections.
Our Mark Online Registration Service supports application preparation and submission. Early preparation helps reduce avoidable delays; filing alone does not guarantee registration.
Requirements
Send your instructions and a scanned, duly executed appointment of representative form (TM-2). We can prepare the form for your review. Please also provide the applicant’s name and address, a clear representation of the mark, the goods or services to be covered and any priority details.
We will confirm execution, notarisation, original-document and supporting-evidence requirements before submission.
Registration Process
- Review the applicant details, mark, goods or services and instructions.
- Prepare the application and representative documentation.
- Submit the application and monitor official communications.
- Follow examination and publication; address issues or opposition where needed.
- Report the outcome and provide the issued certificate when available.
Validity and Renewals
A registered trademark has a ten-year term calculated from the filing date. It may be renewed for further ten-year periods, subject to applicable requirements and fees.
Trademark Fees
Our 2026 schedule lists USD 300 for a straightforward application for one mark in one class without objection or opposition, and USD 100 per additional class. Taxes, bank charges and translation fees are charged separately. Request a written quotation confirming included stages and any further charges.
